Description
West Texas is all about big skies. The Llano River is no exception. The river’s beauty is as vast as the desert landscape around it. It is a short river of only 100 miles and traverses quintessential Texas hill country.
I shot this image right at sunset on a very hot June evening during the COVID quarantine and during the race Floyd riots of 2020. The serenity of the river sunset was a stark contrast to the happenings around the world and in our country.
I have felt very moved during this time to create pieces with an emotion of peace, hope and serenity. I hope you find that in this piece as well.

We had spotted this location on the way to Odessa, however I was unable to photograph it at the time. We went out of our way on the return trip home so that I could try to capture this image.
I utilized my 3-D modeling technique to help bring out the depth you feel in the image. I also processed the colors using digital painting to help add to the calming feel of the image.
