ART IS HEALING
That statement may seem like an exaggeration, but it's a fact. One of the many reasons art heals us is because of the way it helps us to express ourselves and our emotions through color, form, and texture in ways words cannot describe. Furthermore, art can be healing to those who have experienced trauma or loss.
For example, we all know that old saying "a picture says a thousand words." When you are feeling down or depressed due to some event going on in your life (and let's face it - there always seems to be something), sometimes all you need is one glance at a painting or drawing from someone else who has been exactly where you are today; someone who has had similar feelings before and has moved through them with healing and happiness.
